Currently, I work as a Website Developer, Server Administrator, and Finance Coordinator at Camping In, where I oversee the management of a Virtual Private Server, design and develop APIs, and handle both frontend and backend tasks for our website. My work also includes coordinating financial plans to ensure company objectives are met.
Some the tasks I have done here includes:
Server Administration
- Set up a server to run the website from an out of the box cloud based VPS and doing everything from the Linux Ubuntu command line
- Setting up Apache webservers with all sites secured with SSL/TLS encryption cetificates
- Setting up virtual hosts to host more than one domain from the same server
- Setting up A Postfix and Dovecot email server from scratch
- Installng MySQL Database and Node.js for website backend related items
- Provideng many security enhancements including protecting against brute force attacks and SQL Injection
Website Development
- Created a very modern and eye appealing frontend
- Developed a database and backend where people can sign up and have an account (not live)
- added email token authentications to add an additional layer of securtiy/verification for accounts
- Set up a store which includes taxes, buisinees information, policys, and shipping information to allow people to access and purchase items directly from the site.
