Camping In Website
At Camping In, I work as a Website Developer, Server Administrator, and Finance Coordinator.
My role combines technical infrastructure, web development, and financial operations, ensuring the platform’s scalability, security, and business success.
Responsibilities range from managing multiple Virtual Private Servers (VPS), designing APIs, and building frontend/backend features to coordinating company financial planning, Canadian business taxes, and overall money management to align with company objectives.
Key accomplishments include:
Server Administration
- Provisioned and maintained Linux-based VPS infrastructure using Ubuntu, working entirely from the command line.
- Installed and configured Apache web servers with full SSL/TLS encryption across all hosted domains.
- Configured virtual hosts to serve multiple domains from a single server environment.
- Built a fully operational Postfix & Dovecot mail server from scratch.
- Installed and managed MySQL databases and Node.js and Express runtimes to power backend services.
- Deployed and maintained a Vite + TypeScript React frontend, enabling optimized builds and a modern development workflow.
- Implemented security hardening against brute-force attacks, SQL injection, and other vulnerabilities.
Website Development
- Designed a modern, responsive frontend and later migrated it into the TypeScript React framework for improved maintainability and scalability.
- Developed a user account system (in development) with secure database integration.
- Implemented email token authentication for stronger verification and account security.
- Created a fully functional e-commerce store, including tax calculations, business policies, and shipping workflows.
- Launched a company newsletter to reach a community of over 250,000 members with targeted marketing and updates.
