Wisconsin Electric Company (WEC) is a large utility serving most of Wisconsin and parts of southern Minnesota, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, southern Michigan, and northern Illinois. WEC is a stable, growing organization known for reliable, top-tier service across its regions.

At WEC, I serve as a Web Administrator—initially remote and later hybrid at corporate headquarters—supporting and maintaining 100+ web servers across internal and public-facing environments. The role includes an on-call rotation (overnights/weekends) to ensure high availability and rapid incident response.

I drive operational excellence through automation. Leveraging my background in accounting and advanced Excel, I design and assist with PowerShell scripts that streamline repetitive administrative tasks, reducing manual effort and improving accuracy for daily and month-end routines.

Key responsibilities include:

• Certificate lifecycle management: Owning accurate, on-time renewals of SSL/TLS certificates for external WEC domains and subdomains; maintaining inventory and renewal calendars to prevent outages.
• IIS deployments & configuration: Installing IIS, provisioning new sites/app pools, setting bindings and HTTPS/TLS settings, and coordinating application hand-offs with partner teams.
• Server reliability: Performing health checks, log reviews, and routine maintenance to keep systems secure, performant, and compliant across environments.
• Automation & tooling: Writing/assisting with PowerShell to automate user-repeated tasks, standardize processes, and improve turnaround times.
• Documentation & support: Creating runbooks and implementation guides; collaborating with security, network, and application teams to deliver smooth releases and fast issue resolution.
• Incident response: Participating in on-call coverage to triage, remediate, and communicate on service impacts.
